As a teaching artist, I've had the privilege of educating thousands of students ranging throughout the full spectrum of psychological development, demographics, and socioeconomic status.
Throughout college, I worked as an intern and student teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and various suburban school districts in Cuyahoga County.
At Beck Center for the Arts, I currently instruct courses for children, adolescents, and adults. In addition, I continue my work in Outreach Education and the "Arts as Peaceful Solutions" sponsored programs. I have served as a judge for the visual arts portion of the Rotary Award Scholarship Competition, instructed summer art camps, and participated in the Incubating Innovation program sponsored by EmcArts of New York.
Throughout the summer of 2013, I served as the art consultant for the production staff of the smash-hit theatrical production Pitmen Painters (Beck Center, Studio Theater) which is a comedy and drama based on actual historic events. During this assignment, I taught painting to the cast and also recreated historic paintings and props for the production. It was surreal to sit in the final sold-out show and watch professional actors utilize and exhibit my work. Aside from that, it was an outstanding production and I remain honored to have been a part of it— It epitomized my mission of combining various art forms, entertainment, and education.
That summer, I also began working as a scenic artist painting scenery and props for professional productions on the Mackey Main Stage.
Lastly during that season, I was also commissioned to create a mural for a restaurant in Rocky River, Ohio, which was inspired by the beauty and history of the area.
As I continue my work, I am also moving forward on a slew of other public service and educational endeavors that utilize various art forms. If you are interested in a potential collaboration, sponsorship, or would like more information, please contact me:
